Thakur Kundan Singh, the Zamindar of village Sultanpur, has devoted wife and seven years old daughter named Radha. Radha was born to her parents after ten years of their marriage, in response to their prayers to Baba Baijnath-an affectionate name given to Lord Shiva by his devotees in the state of Bihar. Radha is very friendly with Mohan, a poor boy of the village. When they become grown up, the love between the two also becomes very deep. The zamindar smells it and, very tacfully, manages to seprate them from each other.
